About Us
Environmental & Social Responsibility
At ONI we take our environmental and social responsibilities very seriously. We recognise that we have a direct and indirect impact on the local, regional and global environment. We are therefore committed to minimising our carbon emissions by acting in a sustainable way, meeting the needs of the present without compromising the future.
We have calculated our carbon footprint and have worked hard to neutralise this by using ICT and the following policies and actions:
- Waste reduction - The use of paperless office technology to avoid unnecessary printing
- Recycling - paper, tins, bottles, plastic and cardboard as well as refurbishing any appropriate hardware
- Smart purchasing - from locally, sustainable sources where possible
- Travel - using the latest collaboration technology to reduce travel. Flexible working practices and using public transport where possible
- Energy usage - A number of initiatives to save energy such as lighting and air conditioning. Our utilities are green suppliers and our IT uses Energywise technology.
Supporting our local community is also important and where possible we link with other local businesses to provide our services. We also support the Woodland Trust, both financially and by helping with tree planting to ensure that we continue to be Carbon Negative. Our yearly audit will ensure that this commitment is kept.
