DATA CENTRE SOLUTIONS FROM ONI

With ONI’s Cloud Services, you can acquire the necessary IT infrastructure on a pay-as-you-go model, providing the agility to respond to business demands and dynamically scale as the requirements change whilst avoiding upfront capital expenditure and maintaining control over the ongoing costs, paying for only what you need.

ONI’s Cloud Services offerings provide a range of low-cost, agile and flexible alternatives to our customers acquiring and building their own IT infrastructure. By leveraging our investment in Cisco Data Centre 3.0 architecture and hosting this within our purpose built, Tier3, state of the art, Data Centre facilities, our Cloud Services deliver enterprise class performance, availability, and security with options to increase service levels to suit the application criticality.

INFRASTRUCTURE AS A SERVICE (IaaS)

The ONI Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering gives our customers the flexibility to acquire computing resource they need with the assurance that it can scale as their business requires. By leveraging the best-in-class virtualisation platform from VMware married with the industry leading computing platform from Cisco UCS and hosting within our state-of-the-art purpose built Tier 3 data centre based in the UK, ONI’s IaaS offering gives you the enterprise class performance, scalability and resilience you need without the significant capital expenditure required to build it yourself.

ONI’s IaaS offering is delivered per VM with each VM defined as:

• Between 1-8 vCPUs
• Between 1-128GB RAM
• Between 500Mhz-96Ghz of Processor time
• 20GB of boot disk

Alternatively, we can provision a single resource pool for all of your VM’s as a single package. Additional storage requirements are provisioned from the STaaS offering.

DISASTER RECOVERY AS A SERVICE (DRaaS)

The ONI Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) provides a cost-effective solution to delivering an Offsite Recovery Infrastructure (based in the UK) to support your on-site virtual server environment and provide continuous application availability.
Implementing an ONI DRaaS solution provides an always-on, secure and cost effective platform based on the industry leading technologies for data replication to ensure the recovery site remains in sync with the production systems and to enable a rapid and automated recovery from disasters in less than an hour.

ONI’s DRaaS offering is delivered on a per protected VM basis based on:

• The per VM resource requirements (vCPUs, RAM and Mhz CPU time)
• The Production Storage Capacity in use

STORAGE AS A SERVICE (STaaS)

The ONI Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS) offering gives our customers the ability to acquire storage capacity hosted within our UK data centre and benefit from on-demand access to enterprise class storage functionality without the significant capital expenditure normally required to acquire the infrastructure yourselves.

The ONI Storage-as-a-Service offering comprises three distinct classes to suit any of our customers’ requirements and priced on a cost per GB for each of:

• Basic File: File based storage capacity from SATA disk drives and delivered using the CIFS and/or NFS file based protocols.
• Advanced File: File based storage capacity from SAS disk drives and delivered using the CIFS and/or NFS file based protocol
• Advanced Block: Block based storage capacity from SAS disk drives and delivered using the iSCSI or Fibre Channel protocols
• Optional SnapShots: Snapshots taken at a regular interval from any of the above services, and retained online for a predefined period of time

BACKUP AS A SERVICE (BaaS)

For customers consuming the IaaS offering, or colocation customers with VMware servers located within the ONI data centre facility, ONI can provide Data Backup services under the Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) offering which provides fast and non-intrusive, agent-less backup of your Virtual Machine infrastructure using the industry leading data protection solution for virtual environments, securing the backup data to an off-site disk storage array.

By backing up to disk, we not only enable fast backup times but more importantly, fast restore times for when you absolutely need it. With the ONI BaaS offering, our customers are assured of a routine backup of their VMware datastore and can request granular restores of individual emails, database records or objects or even file-system objects as well as complete datastore repositories.

ONI’s BaaS offering is costed on the basis of:

• Protected storage capacity
• Number of backups retained online
