With the increasing demand for housing, particularly in the South and South East of England, Housing Associations face a growing challenge - the need to drive down costs, improve efficiencies, whilst offering their tenants (customers) improved, as well as new services.
A major initiative has been agreed with Cisco Systems to offer the NHF members value proposition based around the effective use of IP Communications with applications such as IP Telephony and Service / Call centre applications.
As part of a major initiative with Cisco Systems, the NHF have identified leading partners in the IP Communications space to offer NHF members best of breed solutions and applications based on Cisco's IPC technologies, for IP Telephony and IP Service/Contact Centre solutions.
ONI has been appointed as part of this initiative to deliver the housing sector solutions that will enable time to market advantages based on proven technology and applications that will further drive efficiency.
The National Housing Federation has undertaken some challenging changes over the past few years, driven primarily by the need to help their Housing Association members. The procurement, implementation and use of technology to deliver better services, both internally and externally, are an important part of these changes.

Government & Public Sector Organisations
The clients of government services come from all sectors of society, including those that are least likely to have ready access to the Internet - the elderly, the poor, the uneducated, and communities with diverse cultures and languages. Technology can greatly increase the speed and delivery of services at lower cost. But local authorities need to ensure that all their citizens have access to these services both on and off line, regardless of Internet skills and level of education.
Therefore multiple access points to government services are needed - from the home, via computer, phone or digital television, at a government office, public library or kiosk, or other government agencies such as the citizen's advice bureau and local businesses requiring local government support.
